Orthodontics in interdisciplinary rehabilitation - new approaches
The XXVIII SPO Congress was held from October 13 to 15, 2022, at the Cupertino Miranda Foundation (Porto), where two hundred participants gathered, including orthodontists and other dental professionals, who had the opportunity to attend a diverse and innovative scientific program, under the central theme “Orthodontics in interdisciplinary rehabilitation – new approaches”.
This edition of the congress, under the guidance of dentist and professor Teresa Pinho, was designed to broaden perspectives on orthodontics “based on the growing need for greater understanding and mastery of techniques and practices”, according to the aforementioned president of the organizing committee.
The meeting brought together the most prominent opinion leaders (national and foreign) in orthodontics and other dental disciplines, under a program that favored a multidisciplinary approach. Highly relevant topics were covered, “always based on scientific evidence and sharing the knowledge that is fundamental to facing the daily challenges of our clinical practice,” said Teresa Pinho.
The pre-congress course was given by two outstanding international speakers: Arturo Vela and Alícia Megía. Continuous training is also an area of crucial importance in orthodontics. “Promoting training and research to develop skills should always be one of our priorities,” said Teresa Pinho.
